Willis G. Smith, founder and president of W.G. Smith, has worked extensively in the area of media and communications in ownership, operational and management roles. Anticipating that diverse consumers and audiences would play an increasing role in the media and business marketplace, he formed W.G. Smith & Associates Research & Consulting in 1997 to assist companies and organizations in market research, marketing, and strategic planning. He got his early research career started in the Washington D.C. working and interning for a variety of industry and policy organizations, including the National Cable Television Association, The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, The Development Exchange, and WHHM (WHUT) - TV. He was also an Area Manager with Time Warner Cable.
